Affiliate disclosure
Required by the FTC, and worth reading anyway — it explains the incentives behind everything on this site.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links, and they are labeled where they appear. If you book through one, Viator pays us a commission out of what they already charge. It costs you nothing extra, and it is the only way this site earns anything.
This page said "there are currently no affiliate links on this site, not one" until 17 September 2026, and promised it would change before the first one appeared. It did.
Who pays us
- Viator — tours, charters and activities. Roughly 8% of a completed booking, paid after the trip actually happens.
That is the entire list. No lodging, no gear, no rental cars, no restaurants. If another one is added, it appears here first.
The part most sites leave out
On four Cruz Bay Watersports trips — The Baths, Jost Van Dyke, Lime Out and the sunset sail — Viator charges $20 more than the operator does directly, and includes free cancellation that the operator does not.
We link Viator, and we earn on it. We also print both numbers and tell you which one suits you, because a booking you can cancel is worth $20 to some people and worth nothing to others. You should be the one deciding that, with the actual figures in front of you.
What we will not do is quietly quote you the higher number. The only reason a price on this site is worth reading is that we have never been caught shading one, and no commission is worth more than that.
What we don't do
- We take no placement fees. No operator can pay to appear on this site or to rank higher on a page. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
- We don't hide the options we can't earn from. A number of St. John businesses — jeep rentals, some shuttles, some charters — aren't on any platform we work with. We recommend them when they're the best answer and note that we earn nothing.
- We don't publish discount codes we haven't verified.
Prices and availability
Prices shown are what we saw on the date noted on each page. Operators change them, seasons change them, and fuel surcharges change them. Always confirm on the operator's own booking page before you commit.
